This is one of the ancient horn bowls from the Indigenous people of the Columbia River in the surrounding area of Celilo Falls. This bowl has 8 small faces below the rim and a larger head on one end. The tall rectangular projections at each end have a band of chip carving near the top and a band of chip carving near their bases which travels around the bowl and the bottom of the bowl has a round design of concentric circles. There is a very old tag on the bottom which calls the bowl a "skull basket". This is one of the classic objects from the Columbia River region.
