1950s Zuni Inlay Butterfly Pin

This is a striking Zuni Mosaic inlay Butterfly Pin with all the hallmarks of an early 1940s pin. Each piece of turquoise, mother of pearl, spiny oyster shell, and jet are cut to fit snuggly together to create elaborate wing patterns and a striking striped body. Rows of silver drops and strips of hand stamped silver have been applied to the silver base plate. to emphasize the large open wings of the the butterfly. This is a beautiful pin that would be perfect for a collector or worn as a piece of art for a special event.
