Small Hopi Jar by Marianne Navasie

$ 125.00

This is a beautiful small polychrome Hopi jar signed on the bottom with a frog and the initial "M", the signature of Marianne Navasie, the granddaughter of the famous Hopi potter, "Frog Woman".  The jar has two alternating patterns on the body, a classic Hopi design and a section of vertical feathers. The colors are subtle and pleasing, a soft orange and a muted dark brown. On one of the sections of feathers, the jar has three tiny sections of loss of the painted layer, but these do not distract from the beauty of the piece.
