Silver Tupus - Andean Garment Pin

L. 6", D. 3 ⅜"

A Silver stamped and chiseled Tupus with an open wheel design with a dark blue round glass center. The silver is heavy and the design work is deep. The pin has good wear on it indicating it was used for a long period of time before it was collected. These were traditionally worn by women in the Andes as a decorative item to close their shawls. This is a wonderful piece for a collector of old Andean silver.
