Polychrome Hopi jar by Rachel Sahmie Talashie with the designs painted in black with brown stippling on a white slip. The design pattern is fairly complicated and is repeated twice on the body of the piece. The body of the piece is thick walled and the inside has an orange slip on it. Rachel Talashie was born in 1956 and began making pottery in the 1970's which she learned from her mother Priscilla Nampeyo, who was the daughter of the famous potter Nampeyo.
