The front panel with the three pretty red flowers and buds was made in the early 1920's. You can date the bag because of the use of the traditional solid blue bead field.  The brighter cut clear beads in the flowers, buds, and stem were the new hot bead of the time. By the 1930's, the beaded field would have also had the brighter cut clear beads. The back leather panel with the large eight pointed star was made in the 1930's. All of the beads in the design and edging are the cut clear faceted beads, which dominated Plateau beadwork by then. Although it is not clear, I believe the front side was also beaded on leather. One of the lower corners of the bag has slight bead loss which exposes where the two beaded panels join and it looks like they are both leather.  The only issue with this bag is that someone cut one of the handles so it can only hang on one handle.
