Plains Quilled and Beaded Possible Bag
This is a classic late 19th Century plains quilled and beaded possible bag, often called a Tipi bag. It has a quilled front and beaded panels on the front of the flap and along the sides. All of the beaded panels have black beaded centers. The red dyed quills have held their color very well but the green and blue quilled sections have lost a lot of their color. There is very little quill loss to insects. Some of the tin cones along the side are missing and some have lost their red horsehair centers. There is very little bead loss in the beaded sections. The beads are all small and are composed of white hearts, greasy yellow, sky blue, black and white beads, all on sinew. Overall, this is a handsome piece and reads well.
