The tube section has bands of simple designs, as well as two ivory handles at one end to pass a hide band through it for attachment. It also has carved bands around it. The double horn at one end has a simple scrimshawed line along its top. The securing piece at the other end is oval with a number of circle and dot designs in three rows. The thimble is walrus ivory with rows of inked pin pricks around it and two sets of opposing vertical scrimshawed bands as well as scrimshawed bands at the top and bottom of the thimble.
