Intermountain Beaded Woman's Belt

This is a beautiful and colorful wide beaded woman's belt. It is beaded on canvas and is closed with three leather thongs on each end. The designs are all geometric. The beadwork is two needle work on thread as is most of the beadwork from this area. Some of the designs include tiny faceted metal beads, probably left over from use in the late 19th century. This belt was collected in the area of eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and western Montana near the Canadian border. It is a good looking piece of beadwork and in excellent condition.
