Columbia River Net Gauge

A rare Columbia River honey colored bone net gauge with a punched crescent shaped design at one end.  It was carved with a suspension loop on the top.  It has a circular stain on one end.  These net gauges are seldom seen.  Skinner's Auction had one in one of their sales many years ago.  This piece would have been collected among the Indians along the Columbia River east of the Cascades. This is part of a large private collection of fine and unusual Columbia River items
