Plateau Pictorial Bag with Indian Chief

This is a wonderful pictorial bag with a portrait of an Indian in a full eagle feather war bonnet. Just the image alone is great but the actual beading is complicated and truly interesting. The feathers are beaded with a central rib up the center and diagonal beaded row on each side just as the actual feathers are made. Depending what is being illustrated, the beads directions change. The only static beading is the blue background. The bag is edged in leather with cut fringe at the bottom with large glass beads holding three or four fringes together. The back is blue cloth with a geometric design in white felt applique.
