19th C. Santee Sioux Beaded Pouch

This is a very old "U" shaped bag with colorful designs on both sides in very tiny seed beads. On one side there are 10 different colors of beads, many of which are faceted. The beading is done with sinew but the bag is sewn together with tiny thread. The bag is lined with interesting patterned cotton cloth. There is some bead loss to the designs and the mouth of the bag is somewhat ragged but overall the bag reads well as a 19th C bag.
