Santa Clara Blackware Jar by Vickie Martinez

This is a well-designed, older globular incised jar with an Avanyu design by Vickie Martinez, an accomplished Santa Clara potter who works in the traditional style of the Santa Clara potters. The design is artful and tight and the craftsmanship is excellent, creating a really beautiful piece. The jar has some abrasions on the surface, which is reflected in the very reasonable price of this piece. These can be seen in the close-up photographs.
