Petite Zuni Olla

This little Zuni olla is an example of the kind of Native American objects sold to early visitors to the Southwest. The thickness of the clay is irregular and the painting is loose but it has charm and will be attractive on a table or shelf. The olla is in very good condition with no breaks or chips. In the book "The Pottery of Zuni Pueblo by Dwight Lanmon and Francis Harlow, is an illustration of a Zuni olla dated 1900 with a similar lower body design of a band of rectangular frames with designs in them. (See figure 15-22 at p.230.)
