1970s Delbert & Torevia Crespin Thunder Bird Necklace
$ 1,250.00
This is a Statement with a capital "S" necklace. This Kewa (Santo Domingo) thunderbird necklace by Delbert & Torevia Crespin packs a visual punch, reviving the classic Depression-era design in a modern way. They have maintained the tradition of the inlaid tabs and thunderbird pendant, using turquoise, hard black and white plastics (or resin) and instead of red plastic, they have used coral. In addition to the larger size, they have done a double strand of shell heishi. This seems to be a hallmark of their modern take on the thunderbird necklace. This husband and wife duo is known throughout the southwest for their beautiful designs, upholding traditional Kewa techniques and designs and breathing new life into them.
L. This necklace measures 24" if it is tied at its tightest. At its longest, it measures 35". Pendant W. 3" : H. 4"
