Athabascan Horn Handled Steel Scraper

This a well used tool with a horn handle and carved finial at the top. The thin steel blade, which is sharpened at the end, is secured in the slit in the handle by 3 iron pins. The bone handle has a great patina and shows considerable wear from use. It was collected around 1950 from Athabascan Indians in the Kuskokwim River drainage in Southern Alaska.
