Pictorial Sioux Quilled Baby Cradle

This is an unusual quilled Sioux cradle with a large image of antelope horns on each side and a buffalo head on the top of the cradle. The outer edge has a rolled beaded band and the cradle is lined on the inside with calico cloth. The quill work on the top and sides have quill loss and a number of the feather tufts at the top, bottom and middle are gone. Given the rarity of this kind of imagery of a buffalo head and antelope horns, this is an important and unusual piece of Plains beadwork.
