Large Siletz Basket with a Double Handle

This is a very well woven and artistic Siletz Basket. The body of the lower half of the basket is spruce root dyed a reddish brown with alder bark. The upper half is the natural color of the spruce root. Separating the two halves is a band of triangles composed of diagonal bands of black maidenhair fern and natural bear grass with a broad horizontal band of alder dyed spruce root through their centers. Half way up, the handles are wrapped for about 2" with another material. The only damage to the basket is a broken hazel stick in one handle close to the rim.
